To contribute to the consolidation of the productive and socioeconomic organization of family farming in Brazil, through the implementation of innovative and priority actions in the formulation of national public policies.

Reporting Lines

The incumbent reports to the Assistant Representative in FAO Brazil – Programme

Technical Focus

Conduct surveys, analyses, and research on strategies and methodologies for disseminating information and knowledge for the development of family farming and socio-productive inclusion of family farmers. Additionally, systematize successful experiences in Agricultural Technical Assistance and Rural Extension (Ater), providing information and proposals to enhance the processes of Technical Assistance and Rural Extension in Brazil, supporting Dater/SAF.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Analyze and systematize the actions of Dater/SAF-MDA for socio-productive inclusion through the dissemination of information and knowledge for the development of family farming.
• Conduct a survey and systematization of successful Ater actions.
• Present proposals for tools to disseminate, showcase, and exchange successful Ater experiences.
• Propose content for informative materials aimed at disseminating knowledge and fostering exchange within the scope of family farming.
• Propose an action plan aimed at the socio-productive insertion of family farmers through strategies and methodologies for disseminating infor-mation and knowledge as a means of improving Ater processes.
• Conduct technical visits to different project intervention areas to gather information for the contracted products.
• Engage with partner entities and social movements, participating in technical meetings with the team of the Secretariat of Family Farming and Agroecology/MDA, public and private Ater companies, Anater, and financial agents.
• Monitor the actions developed on the consultancy topic with the involved entities.
• Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars organized by the Department of Technical Assistance and Rural Extension/SAF-MDA, Anater, and partner entities on the topics of Family Farming, Rural Development, Ater, institutional communication, and management tools.

CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING:

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (according to the Capes/CNPq knowledge areas table)
• At least of 5 (five) years of experience related to the production and dissemination of information on public policies for Family Farming.
• Working knowledge (level C) of Portuguese and English or Spanish;
• Brazilian Nationality or resident of the country with a valid work permit

Technical/Functional Skills

• Desirable experience in the preparation of technical documents on themes related to Rural Development and Technical Assistance and Rural Extension – ATER.
