Job description
This is not your typical veterinarian role! Our client is an agricultural technology company committed to creating a sustainable future. They are currently developing a range of technologies to mitigate and measure emissions from livestock. To continue their growth, they are seeking a registered Veterinary professional with experience in handling bovine/cattle. Your role will be to support the development of their technology by conducting in-depth research and analysis of company products on cattle.Main Responsibilities
- Analysing data collected from the wearable devices, providing insights into animal health, welfare, and environmental impact.
- Designing and conducting clinical trials to test the efficacy and safety of our wearable technology, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
- Supporting with activities on farm, such as setting up trials and monitoring animals
- Supporting with experimental design for key trials in data collection, welfare, and methane mitigation
- Liaising with academic and corporate partners of COMPANY
- Providing animal science support to in-house engineering teams
- Travel and visit farms as needed to support product development and implementation
Experience Required
- Proven experience in monitoring and improving animal welfare, with a deep understanding of bovine respiratory systems.
- Strong background in clinical research, data analysis, and interpretation, preferably with experience in wearable technology or environmental monitoring.
- Hands on cattle experience
- Knowledge of UK regulatory standards related to animal health and environmental monitoring.
- Experience with ethical review applications and process
Professional Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in bovine veterinary science, with a strong focus on welfare, respiratory mechanics, and tidal volume.
- Veterinary degree (BVSc or equivalent) with specialisation in bovine/cattle health and welfare.
- Advanced degree (PhD or equivalent) in a relevant field is a plus
