CNL is looking for a field liaison officer with experience communicating information about construction activities to property owners and residents, addressing the questions and concerns of these key stakeholders in a timely fashion, and proactively mitigating potential complaints

What you will be doing!

  • Explain in plain language the details of day-to-day construction activities to stakeholders, provide regular updates on planned work and notification of changes

  • Attend daily meetings with the contractor to review construction schedules and activities, raise and resolve stakeholder questions or concerns and ensure contractors are adhering to CNL accepted communications plan.
  • Communicate daily with property owners and occupants via face-to-face in-field interactions, meetings, phone, text and email correspondence
  • · Proactively identifying and resolving challenges, and work with the stakeholders and contractors to either mitigate/address complaints in the field or escalate the complaint through CNL’s Complaints Resolution Process

Click here to enter text.Document all stakeholder interactions and related pertinent information and file per CNL corporate record requirements. * Attend CNL meetings as required to maintain a thorough understanding of CNL activities that may affect stakeholders; attend public events such as CNL Neighbourhood Information Sessions as a representative of the C&SR team.

  • Interact daily with CNL and contractor staff undertaking remediation/restoration – project managers, site supervisors, oversight/compliance officers, other Field Liaison Officers, Communications colleagues to gather information, technical details, scheduling updates about the work on PHAI properties and sites. Interaction is largely face-to-face in the field, and by phone, text, email and virtual meetings.
  • Provide regular updates on stakeholder feedback to communications staff, highlight areas of concern and suggest solutions where possible; bring significant complaints and potential major issues to the immediate attention of project staff and/or C&SR management

What we are looking for :

  • University or college degree in communications and/or environmental sciences and/or related field, and/or minimum three years of progressive and comprehensive work experience involving substantial transferable communications related work experience.

Minimum three years of progressive and comprehensive work experience in environmental sciences, environmental restoration, residential construction and/or a comprehensive work experience involving extensive communications related work experience.

Ability to communicate complex technical/scientific/environmental issues to the public in clear, understandable language

Knowledge of MS Office products such as Word and Excel * Valid Ontario “G” driver’s licence require

  • Experience in environmental remediation and/or related construction is desirable
  • Security clearance eligibility required: Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom.
