The International Labour Organization’s (ILO) Child Labour Platform is the leading business initiative to eliminate child labour in supply chains. The Platform draws on the ILO’s extensive experience on international labour standards to provide guidance and knowledge-sharing opportunities for businesses to address obstacles, seize opportunities to eradicate child labour globally and on the ground, and foster practical action that can make a difference in affected communities. The Child Labour Platform is a cross sectoral initiative open to companies of all sized and sectors. It is co-chaired by the International Employers’ Organization and the International Trade Union Confederation.

The Child Labour Platform draws on ILO’s unparalleled convening power to jointly address the root causes of the problem, collaborates with companies to develop innovative collaboration models, provides guidance on how to improve company policies and practice and enable its members to join ILO led initiatives to prevent, assess risks and remediate child labour. To accelerate change on the ground the Platform established with its members four country working groups, including one in India. As of 2024, at least 20 members of the CLP have joined this group, particularly from the agro-industry, the garment, furniture and telecommunications sectors, among others.
