Position Summary:This position is primarly responsible for day-to-day accounting functions including general ledger, revenue and expenses, accounts receivable and accounts payable. The Finance Assistant will perform a full range of professional accounting duties involved in fiscal management, record keeping, reporting and financial analysis of the facility.This role will pay a salary of $40,000 to $47,000 CADFor FT roles: Benefits: Health, Dental and Vision insurance, 401(k) savings plan, 401(k) matching, and paid time off (vacation days, sick days, and 12 holidays)This position will remain open until Dec 31, 2024. Responsibilities:
- Oversee general accounting functions, including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable.
- Serve as back-up for bi-weekly payroll for all salaried and hourly employees
- Perform GL account reconciliations monthly
- Prepare some event settlements and participate in the settlement meeting with the promoter as assigned
- Assist in preparing event settlements for London Knights and London Lightning events
- Coordinate with Box Office on daily reports and deposits
- Reconcile the daily bank transactions to respective bank accounts and prepare journal entries
- Verify the weekly statements from the ticketing company and reconcile reports to cash deposited
- Provide support for the Human Resources function through maintaining records and files; administering employee benefits as needed
- Implement and maintain accounting controls and procedures
- Contact customers to seek payment, inform clients of overdue accounts and collect payment
- Prepare wire transfers and cash order instructions to the bank, for management approval
- Prepare bi-weekly cheque runs for timely payments to vendors
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in accounting, finance, business administration or a closely related field.
- Must be accurate and efficient with ability to meet deadlines
- Capable of working with all levels of management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Knowledge of Sage 100, Oracle Netsuite and ADP payroll processing is an asset
