FINANCE COORDINATOR

My client, an international Not-for-profit organisation, is looking for a Finance Coordinator to join their team. You can be based in any European country and be willing to travel.

You will ensure effective data processing, reporting, financial management, implementation of partner accounting, reporting and monitoring systems for a new multi country, multi annual project. The project aims to cultivate a rights-respecting digital ecosystem that is values based, human-centric and safe for civil society actors and human rights defenders. The project will be implemented for 3 years in Ireland and in 10 countries across the world.

You will report to the Financial Controller / Programme Manager.

Some of your main responsibilities will include:

  • Be a focal point for all financial matters for the EU funded project
  • Ensure compliance with all the European Union (EU) & NGO’s guidelines in the implementation of the project.
  • Be responsible for the financial implementation of the EU grant. Effectively manage the financial and logistical elements in Ireland/Europe and oversee the correct and up to date implementation of the grant in the 10 participating countries.
  • Compile all the financial reports from the 10 countries of implementation (+ Ireland) into a single financial report in line with EU rules and templates.
  • Ensure excellent project and budget performance.
  • Provide training, support and guidance to partners including building their capacity to effectively manage the project’s grant.
  • Be responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of financial reports
  • Ensure all capital assets and inventories for the Project are secure and records are updated routinely in the participating countries.

In order to be successful, you will have:

  • First degree plus qualified and experienced accountant. Part-qualified accountant as minimum.
  • Previous experience in managing EU grants working for an NGO or similar
  • Experience of using Microsoft office in particular Microsoft Excel to manipulate data and produce reports
  • Strong expertise in logistics and procurement.
  • Previous experience in large multi country projects.
  • Proven capacity to coordinate complex auditing processes.
  • Ability to prioritise own workload and work independently to deadlines.
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial reporting, review and analysis.
  • Proven capacity to coordinate diverse and complex working groups.
  • Ability to work in different cultural backgrounds, time zones and in different languages.
  • French and/or Spanish language skills
