Description:We are looking for a Junior Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment to join our Resort Accounting Team, working with our Revelstoke Mountain Resort, and Selkirk Tangiers Heli Skiing brands. This position will report to the Assistant Controller, Resort Division & Centralized Accounting. Responsibilities• Routinely perform periodic bank account reconciliations• Posting daily bank transactions• Responsible for balance sheet reconciliations • Maintaining schedules and posting for inventory • Lead full cycle accounting responsibilities ensuring accurate and timely results are provided to the business• Preparing and submitting government tax remittances• Prepare periodic financial update and various other reports • Liaise with operations management on accounting issues • Maintain effective internal controls, identify risks and propose recommendations for required control changes as necessary• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements, prioritizing automation where possible. • Build great working relationships with the business to promote synergies• Support the annual external financial statement audits and tax filing requirements• Perform other accounting duties as required
Role Requirements• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required• Minimum of 2-3 years experience in full-cycle accounting role with a strong working knowledge of GAAP, enrolled in the CPA program preferred• Strong financial analysis skills and independent problem solving• Exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work within established deadlines and time constraints• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to have fun and be a great team player• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel and ERP systems (Microsoft D365 Finance & Operations experience would be considered an asset)
