Haverhill Primary Care Network (PCN) are looking to appoint an experienced finance lead, to assist the team on a part-time basis for 24 hours per week. This will be to work over three days and must include a Wednesday and a Thursday, the third day is flexible. The role will be based in the Haverhill area at both practice locations, but will include visiting other sites.This busy role will be responsible for all aspects of accounting for the PCN, the monthly preparation of income and expenditure statements, forecasts, providing the senior management team and board with information on PCN finances and any associated risks. The post holder should be flexible in their working hours, as attendance at meetings outside of their usual working hours may be required at times.We would welcome applications from organised, adaptable and friendly individuals who have excellent accounting skills.Main duties of the job

  • Support the PCN clinical director to deliver PCN services.
  • Produce, review and circulate information for meetings.
  • Financial administration including transaction processing, ledger maintenance, payments and reconciliations.
  • Provide reports for the PCN board and other committees as appropriate and providing board level assurance on all financial matters.
  • Manage relationships with external audit, and maintain relationships with other professional advisers, including legal and banking representatives.
  • Ensure the provision of reliable data quality to inform effective clinical and business decision making.
  • Work alongside practice managers within the PCN for the setting up of new financial systems.
  • Assist team with delivery of PCN business plans.

  • Sound understanding of basic accounting and book-keeping.
  • Working knowledge of at least one widely used accounting package.
  • Able to use Microsoft Office applications with above average capability with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to re-prioritise.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at a range of levels including board members, patients and colleagues.
  • Driving license is required due to travel to PCN sites.
