- In your role you will play a key part in supportingthe Head of Management and Financial Reporting, in preparing timely, accurate and high quality reporting and financial information. You’ll be responsible for the UK Consolidated and Subsidiary financial statements, and other key reporting whilst maintaining and ensuring compliance with the relevant accounting standards and other regulatory guidelines.
- Preparation of consolidated annual statutory financial statements for UK Mazars Group (under IFRS) and UK subsidiary companies (under FRS102).
- Identify and implement new or amendments to changes within the financial reporting standards, making recommendations to management, identifying risks to the business and addressing these.
- Lead the engagement with the external auditors and the Audit & Risk committee, to include planning, preparation, delivery and published statutory reports within agreed timetables.
- Preparation and management of the audit deliverables / information.
- Submission to Group of year end consolidation pack and monthly management reporting.
- Prepare and submit VAT & GST returns to include associated reconciliations.
- Quarterly and annual reporting to 3rd parties including surveys.
- Accounting for Corporation Tax for UK and overseas corporate entities, including provision of information to the Internal Tax Team.
- Prepare and manage balance sheet reconciliations relating to investments, intangibles, goodwill, deferred consideration, reserves and various tax accounts.
- Review and reconcile partner transactions and prepare partner current account and partner statistic information.
- Leading on, and improving the year end reporting processes.
- Providing support and assistance across the wider Finance team during peak periods which may include managing team colleagues and taking other tasks.
- Other ad hoc and project work as directed by the Head of Management and Financial Reporting, and working closely with the Management Accountants and Management accounts team.
What are we looking for?
- Qualified accountant – ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent with experience within a similar role
- Sound knowledge of IFRS and FRS102 and worked in a role directly applying key standards within these frameworks
- Intermediate/advanced excel skills, familiar with using formulae, filters, pivots and lookups
- Caseware or Microsoft Dynamics experience advantageous
- Able to work to tight deadlines and manage pressure.
- Innovative and positive mindset to make transformational change where identified to increase efficiency and service delivery
- Confident to lead meetings with senior stakeholders
