Job Description:Position Summary:Under the general direction of the Financial Controller, the incumbent will be responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of daily, weekly, and monthly revenue and expense activities for assigned sites. The accountant ensures adherence to the Company’s policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian’s learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.Key Accountabilities:

  • Reconcile cash generated by slots and table games to daily revenue files and bank deposits and verify gaming revenue journal entries.
  • Prepare monthly working papers on accounts, and ad-hoc analysis as requested.
  • Prepare audit schedules and assist with internal and external audit requests
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for such concepts as inventory, prepaids, accruals, deferrals, and other GL accounts.
  • Maintain and prepare accounting schedule, including updating it and making entries.
  • Prepare and provide analysis over consolidated working paper for various financial statement areas.
  • Prepares internal transfers and external wires in cash management online and verify deposits as required.
  • Sample and review account payable payments
  • Record journal entries related to corporate banking transactions and perform bank reconciliations.
  • Provides analysis that supports the departmental budgeting process. Will work directly with Finance to finalize operational plans.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in in accounting/finance or a suitable combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in accounting or finance
  • In-depth understand of accounting principles, practices and procedures.
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication.
  • Computer literacy in MS office, advanced excel skills. Knowledge in JDE and Google Looker an asset
