Fantastic opportunity for a Qualified Financial Accountant to join a growing business based in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. The role is hybrid. 3 days in the office, 2 from home. 35 hours per week. £55,000 -£65,000

Great opportunity for a Qualified Financial Accountant to join a growing business based in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.

The main purpose of the Financial Accountant role is assisting in the delivery of financial reporting for the Group. As Financial Accountant you will contribute to the preparation of all internal and external reporting; providing accurate financial data to assist the business in measuring achievement of its objectives. Key elements of the role will include maintenance of the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, supporting period end close, processing journal entries, carrying out system validation checks and maintenance of operational controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in production of monthly and annual financial reports.
  • Provide information requests for the external and internal auditors.
  • Maintain system master data in the ERP system. Project work to include system upgrades and new module implementations.
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, including general ledger accounts and sub-ledger accounts.
  • Understand significant balances or variances so that an accurate explanation can be provided to the Group Finance Manager.
  • Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts, including notes and disclosures.
  • Corporation tax and R&D analysis.
  • Duty reporting and VAT return computation.
  • Validate adherence to delegated financial authorities, policies and procedures.

Qualifications/ Knowledge & Experience

  • Recognised accountancy qualification ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a similar role, contributing to month end close routines and audit process
  • Experience gained in a medium to large organisation or shared service centre environment
  • Understanding of latest accounting principles and financial reporting rules
  • Experience of inventory reconciliation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs with strong capabilities within Excel
  • Previous use of ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office packages
  • Can process and understand information in a logical way
  • Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail
  • A flexible team player with the ability to work proactively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical skills – comfortable working with large amounts of data from multiple sources.
  • Ability to operate calmly under pressure.

Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. 35 hours per week. Hybrid
