Financial Accountant

To engage regularly with all commercial aspects of the business, providing accurate financial information to the Board of Directors in a timely manner.

About the role

Key Responsibilities

Engage regularly with all commercial aspects of the business and provide comprehensive, proactive, and value-added finance support and guidance to other Functions within the business.

Support the preparation of monthly/annual (consolidated) management accounts for all entities, including those in the UK, USA, Brazil, South Africa, Australia, and Europe.

Business performance reporting, including costing analysis.

Assist in compilation of budgets and forecasts: analyse and review expenditure and cashflows.

Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.

Ensure the group adheres to current accounting technical standards, provision of technical accounting opinions and hands-on approach in resolving accounting queries.

Ensure on-time delivery of finance deliverables

Support to the statutory audit, preparation, and submission of all audit deliverables on time and interaction with external auditors

Prepare and submit regulatory returns, such as grant claims and VAT.

Support and guidance to the Finance transactional teams.

Proactively identifying and implementing business and finance improvements and ensuring adherence to effective internal controls.

Required Criteria

• Qualification in accounting CIMA/ACA/ACCA
• Highly proficient MS Office experience, especially excel
• Practical technical knowledge of financial reporting standards

Desired Criteria

• Big 4 experience
