Job description
Financial Accountant required for NGO organisation in Dublin 6. Reporting to the Finance Director
Role responsibilities
- Key member of the Finance team with the Treasurer, Finance Director, Accountant, and Accounts Executive on the Financial Administration division
- Revisor of Community Houses – Review and assist Communities with financial administration and provide management advice as required.
- Financial control
- Quarterly Accounts
- Budgeting
- Compliance with Society and Province Policies
- Strong internal controls and risk management
- Financial planning
- Cash flow management
- Compliance with taxation legislation
- Trusted advisor to Community Superiors
- Prepare Trust Financial Statements for audit
- Quality and insightful reporting
- Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations (Charities Act 2009) and adhering to financial reporting standards and governance applicable to the charitable sector.
- Oversight of the finances and governance of organisation’s works & bodies
- Payroll Administration
- Oversight of organisation’s Insurances and VHI
- Working with Solicitor on Legal matters
- Working with professional advisors on Property matters and oversight of Capital Projects
Person Specification
- A professional accountancy qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA)
- At least 10 years’ experience in a finance role.
- An interest in working in an environment where there is a requirement to understand deeply the structure, the ethos and operational environment of a faith-based organisation.
- Experience of charity/not-for-profit sector.
- Excellent IT skills and knowledge of MS Office suite packages and an ability to use and develop accounting software tools and systems.
- Strong relationship builder
- Good communication skills

Salary €80k-€90k plus benefits with 30 days annual leave. Role will be initially site based in Dublin 6 (scope for hybrid after initial period)
