Job description
This position reports into the Controller – the successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timing financial reporting support related to the oversight of the Accounts Payable process and preparation of the Financial Statements as well as addressing related needs of various internal and external stakeholders.
Controllership and Operations
- Administer new implementation of accounts payable process
- Review Corporate invoices to ensure proper expense allocations and entry to relevant period end date
- Assist with preparation of data needed to support corporate transactions
- Identify opportunities and support initiatives to further evolve processes, strengthen controls, eliminate inefficiencies and improve scalability
- Assist Fund Accounting team members with daily duties and projects, as necessary
- Participate in special projects as required
Accounting
- Prepare and enter journal entries and maintain the general ledger for the Company’s Corporate entities
- Perform quarterly reconciliations and analysis of all accruals and balances
- Prepare quarterly financial statement with related working papers
Cash Management
- Process and monitor the timely and accurate payment of corporate invoices
- Assist with performing cash flow analysis, forecasting and budgeting of the Corporate group
- Assist with administering bank wiring instructions and cash deposits
Financial Reporting
- Prepare timely quarterly and annual financial statements
- Assist with the annual audit of Corporate financial statements, as necessary
- Prepare and file monthly, quarterly and annual GST/HST returns
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of ad hoc and routine department and management reporting

- 3-5 years General Accounting or bookkeeping experience
- An undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting
- Experience in managing accounting and reporting functions with daily and monthly deliverables
- Experience in preparing deliverables for financial reporting
- Working knowledge of various tax compliance requirements (HST, Corporate Income tax filings) an asset
- Experience with complex legal entity structures and necessary governance requirements is an asset
