What You’ll DoThe CTFS Corporate Accounting team is committed to the Finance division’s mandate and consists of highly skilled, focused and motivated finance professionals. As the Financial Analyst, you will be required to work closely with the Accounting Operations, Financial Planning & Analysis, Credit Risk, and CTC External Reporting teams to complete reporting and analysis activities for Canadian Tire Bank.Prepare month end reporting (e.g. Key Drivers and Metrics, variance reporting)Prepare quarterly corporate reporting package and other deliverablesMonitor and analyze accounting standards updatesSupport IFRS 9 Expected Credit Loss Allowance – monthly calculations and reporting, preparation of committee materials, quarterly memo, allowance financial statement disclosuresAssist with annual audited financial statement preparation for Canadian Tire Bank and CTFS Holdings LtdAssist with the preparation of annual tax financial statements for various legal entitiesProvide analysis and support to the Senior Management team related to CTFS resultsAssist with audit preparation and executionSupport the control environment by updating and monitoring certification key controlsWork on special projects as assigned by ManagerCross train and learn other functions within the departmentWhat You BringMinimum three (3) years of relevant accounting / finance experiencePosition requires analytical thinking and attention to detailAccounting designation (CPA) or working towardsPost-secondary education, preferably in Finance or related disciplineStrong accounting standards (IFRS) knowledgeExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to act decisively and deal with deadlines during peak periodsMust be able to deal with a variety of issues on a concurrent basisAbility to work independently and as a team member under pressureIntermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPointNice to HavesPeopleSoft working knowledge and experienceExperience with IFRS reportingFamiliarity with a financial institution’s systems, accounting processes, procedures and reporting cycleHybridWe value flexibility.
