Position OverviewRichter Consulting is looking to hire an experienced professional at the analyst level in their Asset Based Lending diligence practice. Our engagements are primarily carried out in US cities and involve a risk-based approach to collateral reviews for leading US financial institutions and are often utilized for refinancings and turnaround strategies. Our deal teams of 3-4 professionals deliver asset-based lending consultation services involving companies in numerous industries (Consumer Products, Retail, Manufacturing, Distribution, Services, etc.). In this position you’ll be tasked with:
- Assisting in the preparation of borrowing base reports, outlining collateral sources and associated ineligibles and reserves;
- Evaluating collateral, including inventory and accounts receivables, through comprehensive analysis and discussions with management.
- Assessing key financial, operational, and lender risks.
- Providing insights to lenders on critical liquidity issues, profitability, forecasts, and other business concerns.
- Understanding the company’s controls and processes as part of a comprehensive risk assessment.
Must Haves
- 2-5 years of relevant experience (CPA)
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation, and organizational skills;
- Strong aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analyses;
- Ability to rapidly identify key issues and make recommendations;
- Superior financial analysis skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint;
- Proficiency with data analysis tools (Power BI, Microsoft Access, Alteryx and IDEA) an asset;
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work autonomously;
- Some US travel required (~15%)
What We Are Looking For
- Strong aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analyses and ability to link findings to strategy;
- Review and analysis of financial data and trends relating to the collateral and the borrower’s business;
- Assessments of collateral borrowing base;
- Evaluation of financial reporting systems;
- Regular communications with lenders through written reports and exit interviews;
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment among driven professionals;
- Occasional involvement in other engagements such as business assessments, liquidity reviews, operational/profitability improvements, corporate finance, and due diligence.
