RS Breakers & Controls is an Original Equipment Supplier that provides excellent customer service and customized solutions. Our 35,000-square-foot warehouse stocks over 100,000 products, including MCC wrapper/buckets, panel switches, circuit breakers, bus plugs, distribution panel boards, and so much more. We stock products of all amperages and voltages to serve residential, commercial, and industrial needs.

The Position:

The Controller is an integral part of the company, in this role you will manage the company’s day to day finances while understanding the core mission and providing financial analysis and planning.

The ideal candidate will have preferred experience as an accountant in the electrical or similar industry. As a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst this person will streamline our budgeting and financial reporting processes, they will also manage AP and AR team and focus on ensuring the accounting function is running smoothly.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of all financial accounts, including bank statements, credit cards, and company transactions.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize Microsoft Dynamics 365 (ERP) to streamline financial processes, improve efficiency, and enhance reporting capabilities.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance reports to provide insights into the company’s financial performance.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports: Actuals against budget with initial variance and year end projection analysis including balance sheets and cash flow.
  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to optimize financial resources and support business growth.
  • Collaborate with department heads and senior management to develop financial strategies, assess risks, and make informed business decisions.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data and internal controls.
  • Management of accounts receivable procedures, customer invoices, scheduled recurring invoices, invoices related to agreements, etc.
  • Management of all payment and acceptance methods: Cheques, e-transfers, direct deposits, etc.
  • Prepare bank deposits.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports: Actuals against budget with initial variance and year end projection analysis including balance sheets and cash flow.
  • Work closely with the CEO to manage 3rd party relationships as appropriate and other administrative matters including but not limited to insurance, service agreements, etc.

Qualifications:

  • CPA accreditation or former CMA/CGA designation
  • 5 – 10 years’ work experience as a Controller or related role.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP System; MS Dynamics – Business Central.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (creating spreadsheets and charts and using financial Excel functions).
  • Exceptional understanding of accounting/bookkeeping procedures.
  • Time-management and organization skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • High energy, friendly and collaborative.
  • A sharp and strategical thinker who can think outside of the box and is an enthusiastic problem solver while confronting compounded difficulties.
  • Exemplarity knowledge of business and business trends. A critical thinker who can identify the financial repercussions of business decisions.
