- Support the company’s initiatives in the department
- Show great attention to detail
- Build and maintain solid relationships with clients, guests, subcontractors, non-profit organizations and other Compass employees
- Maintain positive relations with internal and external clients, and always respond promptly to their requests
- Make sure to liaise with the team, including the operations team of our partner, McGill University, and any other required sector to guarantee efficient operational performance
- Complete all projects on schedule and in a professional manner
Monitoring
- Oversee the completion of required departmental reports and the compilation of end-of-month reports
- Initiate and maintain the annual budget process, quarterly and monthly forecasts
- Ensure that employees follow Compass standards as outlined in the training manual and employee handbook
- Effectively implement financial processes and systems to fulfil these responsibilities
- Develop and put in place an action plan to meet financial goals
- Oversee the entire payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable process
- Closely monitor the accuracy of payroll information and deadlines for submission
- Ensure that all sales reports and financial statements are accurate before disseminated
- Clearly communicate financial results to the management team on a regular basis
- Provide accurate and targeted financial analyses upon request
- Manage a team of 2 employees, and ensure that they are trained and productive
- Review bank reconciliations
- Review accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Prepare accounting information for internal and external audits
- Perform any other related tasks, including data entry, payroll
Team
- Manage employees to meet operational needs
- Use all performance management tools to provide constructive advice and comments to the team
- Have a positive attitude towards members of the team
- Encourage teamwork to maximize productivity and team morale
- Organize regular meetings to ensure proper communication between the management team and department employees
- Act as a mentor to department managers to develop their talents and leadership skills

- University degree in accounting or finance or the equivalent
- 3 to 5 years of financial analysis experience
- Experience in the food service or retail industry (multi-site) considered an asset
- Bilingual (verbal and written)
- Good command of Microsoft Office Suite
- Flexible, independent and meticulous
