Are you an experienced Financial Professional looking for your next opportunity? Staffmax is currently partnering with our client in Borden, ON, to fill the position of Financial Professional (Intermediate or Senior).

Start Date: April 1, 2024
End Date: August 5, 2024
Security Clearance: Enhanced Reliability (proof of clearance required with resume)
Work Timing: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Location: Borden, ON

Duties:

The Financial Professional will primarily be responsible for processing financial information using various methods such as manual, written, verbal, or electronic means. The ideal candidate should possess familiarity with general office procedures, proficiency in standard office equipment and software (Windows, MS Office, etc.), as well as accounting software. Effective communication skills, both oral and written, and a solid grasp of general accounting and mathematical abilities are essential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating, tracking, and finalizing travel or other claims costs compared against the most economical means.
  • Coding, totaling, entering, verifying, and reconciling transactions such as current and archived claims, cheques, and bank statements in a ledger or computer system or both.
  • Providing general clerical support, including data inputting, processing, and updating, routing correspondence; maintaining bring-forward systems; virtual meetings on MS Teams; answering the telephone; operating telephone switching systems; and taking messages.
  • Staying updated on team goals, work processes, and performance objectives.
  • Identifying early warning signs of potential problems and alerting the manager and others as needed.
  • Performing document and file management functions, including e-filing.
  • Photocopying, faxing, and scanning documents.
  • Ensuring required reports and returns are completed and submitted within mandated timelines.
  • Providing weekly updates on progress initiatives.

Experience and Skills:

Candidates should have experience in providing financial support services, including processing claims for payment, along with a solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.

Typical duties may include:

  • Inputting information into a financial management system.
  • Selecting, validating, and inputting information in the system.
  • Providing administrative and financial support services.
  • Remaining situationally aware of upcoming claim and travel requirements.
  • Interacting effectively with CAF and civilian personnel.
  • Researching report submissions and suggesting solutions.
  • Tracking documents and maintaining a file system.
