Coventry Building Society recently announced it has reached agreement to purchase The Co-operative Bank plc, subject to gaining regulatory approvals.As a result of this, we have an exciting and rare opportunity for a Financial Reporting Senior Manager to join the Society’s external reporting team on a 12-month fixed term contract. The person in post will support the Head of External Reporting in leading the technical accounting requirements arising from this project.The Financial Reporting Senior Manager will be responsible for the interpretation of relevant IFRS accounting standards (including IFRS 3, IFRS 9) and the preparation and review of technical accounting papers, including drafting summaries for Board Audit Committee update papers. The role holder will engage with external auditors and supporting advisors on the project, be a key contributor to the preparedness of the External Reporting Function and will develop new accounting processes to apply the accounting interpretation.Our benefits include:

Find out more about the fantastic benefits of joining Coventry Building Society .We do reserve the right to close this advertisement early if we receive a high volume of suitable applications.About youAs a qualified accountant with significant post qualification experience, you’ll have the ability to handle and understand complex technical financial accounting topics and communicate them in a simple way.With strong experience of IFRS accounting standards, particularly IFRS 3, you’ll be an experienced technical accountant ideally with a large practice or financial services background.You’ll be a confident communicator with the ability to express opinions and provide technical advice and guidance to colleagues as well as the ability to step back from the detail and contribute to debate to find fair and proportionate technical solutions.You’ll have a natural curiosity to investigate and question results with the ability to challenge the business to resolve or offer solutions to problems that occur or seek to approach things differently.About usAs a mutual, we’ve always worked together to improve the lives of others.
