Job Title: Fire & HVAC Technical ConsultantLocation: We are seeking a Fire & HVAC Technical Consultant to join our Technical team in the UK. At ROCKWOOL, we work relentlessly to enrich modern living through our innovative stone wool solutions.Join us and make a difference!Your Future Team:Reporting to the Fire Protection Technical Lead, you will be part of the Technical Fire team that is responsible for ensuring that ROCKWOOL FirePro products and HVAC, systems solutions are the choice within the UK construction market by meeting legislative requirements and market demands.What you will be doing:
- Acting as a leading, credible technical contact for fire protection, fire stopping and HVAC projects
- Providing first line support to customers and internal stakeholders via the fire mailbox
- Providing customers (Specifiers, Specialist Contractors /Designers/Consultants) with technical/design advice and be their preferred partner for fire-related enquiries whilst assisting in the development of ongoing working relationships
- Collaborate in planning fire resistance tests that align with current standards to broaden the scope of ROCKWOOL products.
- Selecting the appropriate products or systems according to the project needs
- Attending design team meetings and/or site meetings to assist customers with ROCKWOOL product related queries
- Supporting the Technical Fire team as they produce technical evaluations in accordance with, industry guidelines, and ROCKWOOL policy, accompanied by drawn details
- Working closely with the Product Management team to ensure the ROCKWOOL Firestop technical literature is constantly up to date and accurate
- Having a clear understanding of regulations and statutory requirements relating to the passive fire protection industry within the UK and Irish market
- Supporting the wider ROCKWOOL business with project leads, ensuring that a consistent and cohesive approach is maintained
- Representing ROCKWOOL at trade associations and industry events
What you bring:
- Passive Fire Protection industry experience
- Qualification in a construction or fire engineering discipline
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Computer literate with sound working knowledge of Microsoft packages (Word, PowerPoint & Excel)
- Experience in Fire resistance testing and 3rd party product certification
