Job Description:Grade UOE7 – Salary Scale: £39,347 – £46,974 per annumCorporate Services Group: Health and Safety DepartmentOpen ended (Permanent)1 x full time – 35 hours per week or 2 x part time (job share) postsLine Manager: Wes Boulstridge University Fire Safety AdviserPlease note that we will not process applications from persons who have applied for this job within the past six months.The Opportunity:To assist the University with its fire safety related responsibilities by providing the University community with the necessary guidance, advice and support on all matters relating to compliance with fire safety legislation and codes of practice, thus ensuring uniformity in terms of fire safety practice throughout University properties.Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Demonstrable experience in providing fire precautions advice, competent fire safety advice and undertaking fire risk assessment in a similar multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in the delivery of fire safety related training courses.
  • Thorough knowledge of current fire safety legislation and guidance.
  • A suitable qualification in fire risk assessment and fire engineering is desirable or the equivalent experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with evidence of engagement with a range of people including staff, students and external organisations.
