We are hiring a Food Assistance Program Manager to provide coordination and management of all food assistance activities in an International Undisclosed location. Use your experience and leadership ability to lead programmatic and financial aspects of our program in the area. A day in the life of a Food Assistance Program Manager in an Undisclosed location:

In the role of Food Assistance Program Manager, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
  • Manage day-to-day program implementation and support emergency food distributions with oversight of food storage, transport, and distribution
  • Ensure that the program objectives are delivered on time and on budget
  • Develop and implement a detailed procurement plan for all required food assistance materials well in advance with Nutrition/Food Security/Livelihood Technical Leads and Logistics Manager
  • Assess, manage, and report critical physical, emotional or spiritual concerns of supervised staff to appropriate personnel
  • Liaise with the donor, in conjunction with the Grants Manager and Deputy Country Director, to develop program plans and resolve ongoing issues.
  • Ensure the program team has a clear understanding of the food security and nutrition situation in the area of operation
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Strong understanding of humanitarian food assistance programs.
  • Bachelors degree and two (2) to three (3) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of eduation and experience. Previous experience working in complex areas, particularly in Africa. Twelve credit hours of college level biblical studies is strongly preferred.
  • Capacity to write, develop and manage WFP grants/budgets.
  • Able to communicate diplomatically with other NGO, governmental, and community partners.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in an ever-changing environment.
  • Culturally sensitive and respectful of church leaders from all denominations
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not already completed, opportunity to meet and complete requirement is available upon hire.

Travel Expectations: Regular travel to field sites in the area for distributions; required travel documents and vaccinations for entry into foreign countries will be necessary
