As an engineer on the Account Growth team, you’ll be responsible for the end to end experience of customers who want to share data with our merchants or pay with their bank account. You’ll work on understanding and optimizing the end-user experience and building a high-quality, operationally excellent product.Responsibilities

• Craft beautiful user experiences with an emphasis on quality and taste

• Explore new ideas and mine through data to propose and run experiments to improve the user experience

• Balance working on large projects with smaller, iterative product quality improvements

• Design, build, and maintain shared UX components across

• Join a cross-functional team focused on supporting merchants and consumers enabling financial data access and bank payments across a number of platforms (web, iOS, and Android)

• Work directly with strategic external users to understand their needs and build creative solutions for them.

• Work with product managers, user researchers, designers, data scientists and other engineers to empathize with external users and build solutions to address their needs

• 2+ years of experience in web development using React

• 2+ years of full-time, industry software engineering experience (not including internships or co-ops)

• Have a desire and ability to empathize with the many different types of users who depend on Stripe’s products and APIs

• Have a passion for building delightful user experiences

• Prefer simple solutions and designs over complex ones, while keeping a good intuition for what is lasting and scalable

• You measure your success in terms of business impact, not lines of code

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with TypeScript

• Experience working on server APIs in modern frameworks

• Are comfortable working on both front-end applications and backend systems, even if you prefer one of the two

• Enjoy working with a diverse group of people with different areas of expertise. Engineering works closely with a variety of teams: Sales and Support to better understand our customers’ needs, Legal and Accounting to understand how global policies influence our money-moving infrastructure, etc

Hybrid work at StripeOffice-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.Pay and benefitsThe annual salary range for this role in the primary location is C$134,400 – C$201,600. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location.
