The position at a glance

The Fund Expense Analyst is responsible for performing activities related to fund payments, expense ratios, expense accruals, and additional expense and performance reporting, as deemed necessary. Assists with analysis conducted on the financial statements regarding expenses and associated liabilities. Ensures compliance with departmental policies, procedures and timelines needed to complete expense analyses/reporting.

In detail

  • Responsible for processing monthly invoices and associated wire payments.
  • Analysis of monthly fund expense ratios.
  • Preparation of monthly variable expense accrual budgeting.
  • Preparation and review of monthly contractual expense wires and reporting.
  • Completes established expense reporting as directed for all required periods (i.e. monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual).
  • Responsible for any research items associated with billing, accruals and ratios.
  • Preparation and review of various monthly/quarterly expense reporting.
  • Provides ad hoc expense ratio/data information as deemed necessary.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent.
  • 3 years of mutual fund accounting, expense reporting or related experience.
  • Knowledge of the English language is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • First experience working in the Financial Services sector, specifically in the Investment Management, Funds Services, Audit or Securities Services industry.
  • First experience working on SimCorp Dimension for IBOR/ABOR functionalities.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of mutual funds industry, mutual funds accounting and reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently within established guidelines.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Strong communication skills.
