The job: Fundraising Assistant

Job Location: 23 – 25 Grantham Street, Dublin 2

If you join us, this is what you will be doing:

The Fundraising Assistant will be part of a team working to deliver Concern’s Fundraising Strategy. This will involve supporting the Community Fundraising Team with fundraising activities and provide an efficient, effective and friendly donor care experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of the Community Fundraising Strategy.
  • Support community fundraisers via phone, email, online and mail, including event participants, groups and volunteers.
  • Organising collections by liaising with the relevant organisations, churches, shopping centres and Gardaí (for permits).
  • Support direct marketing activities to recruit, steward and manage the relationships of all Community Fundraising supporters.
  • Proactively participate in Collections and other Community Fundraising activities. This requires great communication and social skills to engage with all supporters to build and maintain lasting relationships with Concern.
  • Provide an efficient, effective and friendly donor care experience.
  • Support the provision of special care to donors and members of the public, responding to written and verbal queries from the public and supporters as necessary.
  • Responsibility for preparation, production and submission to the bank of monthly direct debit / credit card regular giving.
  • Participate as a member of the Tax Back Team within Donor Care, to include file preparation and submission to Revenue.
  • To work as part of the CRM team to develop new and improve existing processes and procedures to maximize effectiveness, efficiency and service to donors.
  • Lead on the administration of in house telemarketing campaigns.
  • Support the achievement of divisional and departmental objectives.
  • Undertake specific tasks and projects as directed by management.
  • Ensure that all activity is carried out in full compliance with Concern’s financial and administrative policies and procedures.
  • Show reasonable flexibility in relation to hours of attendance to meet the needs of the work. Work during weekends, evenings and unsociable hours may on occasion be required.

Skills and Experience Required:

Essential:

  • Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written.
  • Excellent administration and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational and coordination skills.
  • Good computing skills.
  • Reliability, punctuality and flexibility.
  • Have a professional manner and the ability to deal effectively with donors and fundraisers.
  • Experience in a Customer Services role.
  • Strong teamwork skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience in call centre/telemarketing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of Concern Worldwide’s work.
  • Previous experience working in a fundraising environment.

You will report to the Community Fundraising Manager and work with Community Fundraising Team, Donor Care Team, Supporter Marketing Team, Corporate and Major Donor Team, Communications Directorate, International Programmes Directorate and other stakeholders across the organisation.

This role will be based in the Dublin office with a salary from €29,808 – €34,066 (Band 2). This is full time permanent contract.
