Our work is rooted in Catholic Social Teaching and in our values of Solidarity, Courage, Participation, Perseverance and Accountability.The Fundraising and Marketing function within the Ireland Division in Trócaire is responsible for raising income from the public in Ireland, increasing awareness and understanding of Trócaire and engaging donors and potential supporters in our work.The Philanthropy unit is responsible for the stewardship of existing Major donors to Trócaire and growing new donor recruitment at Major donor level from individuals, corporates and religious ordersThe role will report to the Philanthropy Advisor, this is a specific time contract of 12 months and is based in Maynooth with blended work from home.RequirementsKey responsibilitiesMajor Donor relationship management of existing Major Donors

  • Help increase engagement, value and retention rates of Major Donors through stewardship of current and new donors by telephone calls, letters, email and social media.
  • Manage all donor care administration.
  • Responsibility for logistics of mailings; personalised letters and direct mails.
  • Liaison with external print and fulfilment houses.
  • Supporting logistics of events as required: invitations, scheduling etc.
  • Visit donors from time to time and attend events and seminars
  • Assist with new iniatives as they arise

Salesforce management

  • Data Hygiene and management of data on Salesforce
  • Administration of grants and donor advised funds
  • Some analysis of report and funds as required

Project management and research work

  • Work with oversea colleagues to assist team on project identification for donors and subsequent report writing
  • Liaison with finance team for administration of donor advised funds processes
  • Foster strong teamwork and collaboration across teams organisationally
  • General research and profiling

Administrative support for major gifts team

  • General admin support to team
  • Such other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Essential Requirements – Skills

  • Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experienced CRM (Customer relationship management)systems user, preferably salesforce
  • Attention to detail & accuracy essential.
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Reporting and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to work on own initiative.
  • Innovation – ability to identify and introduce new work processes and methodologies where practicable.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Positive outlook – People’s person – ease with networking

Qualifications

  • Third level or proven relevant experience in lieu

Experience

  • Strong experience in administration and relationship building environments
  • Some marketing/sales experience preferable

  • Enthusiastic about overseas development and a keen interest in the mission of Trócaire
  • Energy and drive
  • Interest in fundraising opportunities
  • Willingness to learn
  • Flexibility (some rare occasions of evening work relating to events may be required)

  • Full Driving licence and use of car.
