Overview: As General Accountant you will be responsible for the bank reconciliation of CAD accounts for two Sonova divisions.
What you’ll do:
- Complete fixed assets master data and asset subledger management, monthly closing and reconciliations
- Maintenance and reconciliations of prepaid expenses and accrual accounts
- Inventory suspense accounts management and booking of inventory provisions
- Preparation of various General Journal entries, General ledger account analysis and reconciliation
- Process employee travel and business expenses using an online tool – Concur; manage Concur database and generate reports
- Monthly IFRS 15 and deferred income calculations and adjusting entries, other various month-end and year-end closing tasks and reporting
- Assist in the annual budget process
- Play a key role in the annual financial audit process, government and any internal audits
- Internal controls – reporting and completion
- Conduct Concur training for all new employees and ongoing user support
- Federal and provincial sales tax reporting, sales tax accounts reconciliation, sales tax compliance management
What you bring to the team:
- College diploma in accounting or Batchelor Degree in Business Administration or Commerce
- Experience working in a similar role
- Proficiency in SAP
- Strong ethics, attention to detail, and problem solving skills
- Proficiency in standard office applications, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and with multiple departments of our organization
- Comfortable with change
