This exciting Accountant opportunity is with one of our clients in the Quinte West area is a permanent, full-time position. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accountant will bring 5+ years of accounting experience with a solid understanding of balancing debit / credit entries, plus general accounting functions like financial transactions, disbursement, receipts, journal entries; account reconciliations etc.Duties:· Work with all aspects of full cycle accounting, A/P, A/R, Account Reconciliations· Preparation of monthly/quarterly working papers· Bank reconciliations preparing of daily cash deposits and journal ledger accounts· Process all aspects of accounts payable including reconciliation of AP sub-ledgers to general ledger control accounts.· Responsible to maintain prepaid schedule, and prepare routine accruals at month end.· Process expense claims, corporate card statements and employee advances.· Arranges for electronic funds transfers, wire transfers or other disbursements· Accounts receivable function includes processing customer cash receipts (checks, wires), following up with customers, issuing credit notes.· Keep track of all payments and expenditures, including purchase orders, invoices, statements· Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances· Paying vendors by scheduling and ensuring payment is received for outstanding credit· Responsible for processing credit card payments/back up of cash receipts; provide customers with invoices.· Preparing analyses of accounts and producing monthly reports· Process accounts payable invoices; reconciliation of supplier statements; payment of supplier statements· A strong knowledge of accounting and business procedures is required. Knowledge in all aspects of corporate accounting and financial management including month end and year end procedures.· Completion of post-secondary full cycle accounting courses· 5+ years of accounting experience· Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.· Strong communication skills with superior attention to detail and accuracy· Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize duties and timelines in a fast paced/dynamic environment.· Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and working experience in an accounting-based ERP system.
