Bayshore Healthcare is also Canada’s Best Employers Forbes 2023 list.The General Accountant, under the direction of the Senior Manager, Finance ensures the completion of accounting activities as they relate to the National Development Centre (NDC) and the support of Branch Offices.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the end-to-end bank reconciliation process for multiple entities and follow up on any discrepancies arising
- Manage the intercompany reconciliation and settlement process
- Manage the supplier setup process and liaise with stakeholders as necessary
- Prepare and post various P&L accrual and adjusting entries
- Assist in the development of reporting requirements as requested by Corporate Managers
- Preparation of monthly Balance Sheet account analysis and reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts
- Contribute to implementing projects and process improvements in the department
- Support the transition of acquisitions and expansion in the business
- Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities
- Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures.
- Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company’s Quality Management System
- Maintains confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel
- Other ad-hoc tasks as required
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The General Accountant reports to the Senior Accountant.QualificationsQualifications – External
Education
Post-secondary Degree or Diploma. Pursuing CPA accounting designation.Experience
One to two years of related accounting experience; a proven track record in balance sheet analysis and spreadsheet usage; strong working knowledge of Excel and Power Point.Other Skills and Abilities
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to meet deadlines; strong commitment to continued learning; attention to detail; ability to take leadership in special projects.
