Company: Lépine CorporationPosition: General ManagerLocation: Carleton Place/KanataReports to: Partners/OwnersAbout the Role:We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our new business division. The General Manager will play a critical role in establishing and growing the business, managing day-to-day operations, and achieving strategic goals. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires a proactive, resourceful, and entrepreneurial individual.Key Responsibilities: * Business Planning and Strategy:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business plan.
  • Support the partners to identify market opportunities.
  • Establish competitive pricing strategies and fees for customers.
  • Set short-term and long-term goals and establish Key Performance Indicators
  • Financial Management:
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Manage cash flow and ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Establish financial controls and reporting mechanisms.
  • Establish invoicing and accounts receivable processes.
  • Investigate and implement appropriate banking platforms for revenue collection.
  • Establish relationships with debt collectors as required.
  • Ensure sales taxes, income taxes and municipal taxes are prepared correctly and filed on time.
  • Operations and Logistics:
  • Set up and manage revenue and distribution logistics.
  • Establish efficient supply chain and inventory management systems.
  • Manage financial and credit facilities and develop relationships with financial partners.
  • Sales and Marketing:
  • Work with partners to develop and execute marketing strategies to attract targeted customers.
  • Oversee and report on results of sales activities and customer service.
  • Ensure company website is developed and maintained.
  • Location and Infrastructure:
  • Set up new business location(s).
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and obtain necessary operations permits.
  • Human Resources:
  • Recruit, train, and manage initial supporting staff.
  • Develop a positive and productive workplace culture.
  • Handle employee relations and performance management.
  • Contract Creation and Legal Compliance:
  • Draft, review, and manage contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Reporting and Communication:
  • Provide regular updates and reports to partners.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Regular reports on accounts receivables, and collection efforts and results.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a general management role, preferably in a startup or small to mid size business environment.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and cash flow.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong leadership and people management abilities.
  • Experience in logistics, supply chain management, and operations.
  • Solid understanding of sales, marketing, and customer service principles.
  • Ability to draft and manage contracts and ensure legal compliance.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and make decisions.

Benchmarks and Targets for the First 6 Months: * Month 1-2:

  • Develop a detailed business plan with clear goals and milestones.
  • Secure initial funding and manage financial setup (bank accounts, accounting systems, etc.).
  • Source potential business locations.
  • Launch of the company website.
  • Month 3-4:
  • Set up initial infrastructure and logistics systems.
  • Work with the partners to develop and launch a marketing campaign
  • Establish pricing structure for various revenue streams.
  • Begin recruitment of essential supporting staff.
  • Support partners with initial sales and customer acquisition efforts.
  • Month 5-6:
  • Support partners to achieve initial sales targets and secure contracts with key clients.
  • Optimize operations and logistics for efficiency.
  • Establish a customer service framework and feedback system.
  • Provide a comprehensive progress report to partners with recommendations for next steps.
