The position of GIS and Route Planning Analyst will work with Emterra’s operations teams, to enhance current and future fleet/hauling operations, focusing on route optimization and asset utilization. This is a full-time summer/co-op contract that could potentially be extended.
The successful candidate will be required to travel within Canada for data collection purposes.

Responsibilities:
Source, implement, and utilize Geographic Information System (GIS) software to create and optimize collection routes for maximum productivity.
On road/route observations of collection routes.
Analyze fleet/hauling operations including driver and routing efficiency, time and motion studies, and cost saving improvements.
Analyze data collected on the routes and add to existing database for various areas.
Ensure routes are ‘driver-friendly’, efficient, and safe.
Create digital and hard copy route maps that are ‘driver-friendly’.
Maintain current and accurate route files, maps, and statistics; and
Review and report on KPIs.
Convert Excel Data into shapefiles (Georeferencing)
Collecting GIS data from various open data sources
Create, maintain and/or modify existing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) databases.
Expected salary
$50000 – 55000 per year
