The starting salary for this opportunity plus benefits depends on location of the candidate).The role:We are delighted to recruiting for a Global Security Officer (GSO) to join our Governance and Risk team. In this fast paced and varied role, you will be supporting the Global Security Lead in strengthening security governance and operational risk management across our international programmes.From monitoring threats and managing travel security to incident reporting, you’ll help shape and implement our Security Management System while working closely with in-country teams to ensure the safety of our people and operations worldwide.You will:
- Support the rollout and improvement of Mary’s Meals Security Management System (MMSMS).
- Deliver security training and build capacity across global teams and security focal points.
- Conduct threat and risk assessments and produce timely intelligence reports.
- Monitor global security environments and support local teams in contextualising risks.
- Manage travel security planning, including pre-travel briefings, journey tracking, and incident response.
- Lead on security incident reporting, database management, and post-incident learning.
- Collaborate with the Risk and Assurance team to analyse trends and support investigations.
- Monitor and manage whistleblowing concerns with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Support investigations, maintain confidential records, and promote awareness of whistleblowing procedures.
What you’ll bring:
- Proven experience in security risk management, threat assessment, and travel security in NGO or international settings.
- Skills in conducting risk assessments and delivering clear, actionable mitigation advice.
- Experience managing incident reporting, analysis, and post-incident learning.
- Familiarity with global security networks, NGO security forums, and intelligence sources
- Experience of delivering pre-travel briefings and supporting journey risk management
- Experience of delivering security training and building local capacity
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to communicate insights clearly
