Position Details

What You Will Do

⦁ Develop and execute key elements of GCR’s advocacy role that add value to the CCG brand and enhance the strategic focus on Member and public safety
⦁ Identify, develop and maintain government, and industry stakeholder relationships while advocating for the overall mission of the organization
⦁ Foster collaboration and cooperation among internal and external stakeholders while exercising diplomacy and conflict resolution tactics to maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive issues
⦁ Coordination of regular and annual marketing and communications with the ongoing focus on raising public and stakeholder awareness of the organization and its work through multi-faceted communications efforts
⦁ Ongoing research and knowledge growth to keep CCG’s programs, issues and initiatives aligned with current trends and data in Manitoba, and to identify new opportunities
⦁ Experience communicating with government officials and business leaders plus an understanding of networking and correct comportment is crucial
⦁ We would give special consideration to any candidate who has community advocacy experience or a candidate who has initiated a grassroots project
⦁ An interest in community-based programming considered an asset, such as our School Safety Patrol Program.
⦁ Some travel (within Canada) can be expected

Who You Are

⦁ Bachelor’s degree in political science, Communications or a related field is mandatory.
⦁ Post-secondary Certification from Government Relations/PR/Corporate Communications program, and/or membership in related associations an asset
⦁ Experience in areas including; Public policy/Public affairs, Public relations/corporate communications, Not-for-profit, Social media and digital communications,Stakeholder relations
⦁ Experience in Critical writing
⦁ Experience in research and data analysis
⦁ Experience in digital marketing an asset
⦁ Strong verbal and written communication skills
⦁ Pre-existing networks in Manitoba communities (NGO, charitable sector, not-for-profit, political) would be considered an asset
⦁ Marketing, project management and event planning experience considered an asset
⦁ Experience on elections campaigns also considered an asset
