We are seeking a Governmental Auditor 3 to join our Office of Education, Innovation, and Improvement at the . This is a permanent position represented by the .
This role is a hybrid of remote work and will need to report to office when business or operational needs are dependent on onsite activities. Remote work is embraced to the fullest extent possible without interfering with business.

What you will do!
As the Governmental Auditor 3, you will provide lead support in developing and maintaining audit plans to ensure there is an adequate, complete, and consistent review of district spending of resources, as well as timely review and follow up with all grantees.
Typical Duties Include:
Assisting management in reducing risks that may impair the achievement of (SIA) goals and implementation efforts related to Oregon’s , improving the efficiency and effectiveness of EII operations.
Engaging in independent, objective assurance and consulting activities that comply with professional auditing standards.
Collaborating with the team that oversees EII grant agreements. This includes reviewing and analyzing financial impacts, resolving technical and compliance challenges, and developing strong and supportive grant monitoring and oversight systems.
What you need to qualify
A bachelor’s degree in a business-related field, such as business administration, public administration, finance, economics, computer science, etc., AND three years of auditing experience that includes one year of experience doing governmental auditing.
Twenty quarter hours of college courses in a business or financial field such as the areas listed above AND two additional years of auditing experience may substitute for the degree.
Successful completion of the duties and training as an Oregon Governmental Auditor (Entry) will substitute for one year of governmental auditing experience.

Preference may be given to applicants who have an auditing certifications, e.g. Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
Ability to interpret various rules, laws and regulations.
Ability to maintain high level of integrity and ethical behavior.
Experience working with culturally and individually diverse groups, including sovereign nations.
Excellent communication skills including written and presentation skills.
Knowledge and experience building working relationships with and between management and staff.
Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, statistical analyses, audit standards, techniques and risk analysis
Working knowledge of principles of accounting and auditing procedures.

Salary Range: The range listed is the Non-PERS salary range. Public Employee Retirement System (PERS) participating members will have their base salary increased by 6.95% and pay a 6% employee contribution to PERS.
