Because we believe everyone deserves a fair, secure, and fulfilling retirement.PurposeThe Data Governance Manager will play a critical role in driving data stewardship initiatives that deliver actionable insights and ensure regulatory compliance. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing Just Group’s data governance objectives, standards, practices, processes, and technologies. You will lead data-driven projects and serve as the primary gatekeeper for data quality in new analytics initiatives.Additionally, you will help transform complex data into valuable insights that guide strategic decision-making across the organization. As the leader of the Data Governance team within the broader Data Team, you will mentor and support your team in upholding the highest standards of data quality and governance.Key AccountabilitiesDefine strategic priorities for the development of Data Governance capabilities aligned with Data strategy and Just Group’s Data Protection Policy, SII data policy and governance frameworkExplain the benefits of Data Governance to business stakeholders and help define and track benefitsRoll out and maintain a Data Governance framework with a focus on:Building business ownership and accountability for data assetsEstablishing stewardship of dataDefining and implementing policies and standards, governance metrics, processes and support the use of related toolsLiaison between business units and supporting services to ensure that data related business requirements are clearly defined, communicated, well understood and considered as part of operational prioritisation and planningContribute to the development of Data Management capabilities such as metadata management, data quality management, consent management and data modellingSupport business units in implementing Data GovernancePromote Data Governance tool capabilities to foster responsibilities and control of the data assets lifecycleHelp operationalise regulatory requirements on data assets and proactively provide support on regulatory requirements (data protection, information security, risk management, etc.)Ensure that Data Governance activities are aligned with Finance requirements for regulatory reporting and support financial controlsExamples of Key ActivitiesDefining, communicating, and driving the execution of the Data Governance Strategy to ensure data is managed properly, according to policies and best practicesLeading and managing Data Governance activitiesCreating and managing the Data Governance frameworkLine Management of Data Quality AnalystSupporting the data team with the implementation and ongoing improvement of the enterprise data platformDefining and monitoring Just Group’s performance against Data Governance KPIsDefining and monitoring the benefits from Data GovernanceSupporting business units in the creation of data quality improvement plansHelping to develop training and awareness material for employeesSkills, Knowledge and ExperienceThe successful candidate will demonstrate:Expertise in Data Governance principles and best practices, with extensive experience in senior roles within Data Governance and/or Data Quality in the Financial Services industry.Proven track record of managing large-scale Data Governance programs and enterprise data assets in complex organizational environments.Strong experience in developing and implementing Data Governance frameworks, policies, and performance metrics.Proficiency in Data Governance and Data Quality systems and toolsIn-depth knowledge of data sources, transformation rules, and data stewardship practices.Familiarity with data catalogs, data quality technologies, and data lineage tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview).Solid understanding of GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and relevant financial regulations.Practical experience in auditing and operational awareness of change management processes.Knowledge of Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, and Big Data solutions (familiarity with SQL is a plus).Familiarity with Cloud-based frameworks (including data lakes, relational, Graph, and NoSQL databases).Awareness of emerging Cloud and Data Management trends, tools, and methodologies (including open-source technologies and commercial vendors).Proficiency in Microsoft Server technologies (e.g., Azure, T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, Power BI) is desirable.Strong understanding of Master Data Management technology and processes.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to challenge requirements and drive organizational value.Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, ambiguity, and fast-paced change.QualificationBachelor/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Management or equivalent experience in a Data Governance/Data
