This includes defining how data will be stored, consumed, integrated, and managed by different data bodies and IT systems. The Master Data Architect works closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, and IT teams to ensure that the master data architecture meets the organization’s current and future needs. He is also in charge to establish best practices for data management, data security, and data quality.KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIESCollaborating and coordinating with business stakeholders (Data Owners, Subject Matter Experts, etc.) and technical teams to understand MDM requirements and challengesDesigning, configuring, and developing tangible solutions using various MDM technologies, including identifying opportunities for the design of best-of-breed MDM solutionsDeploying and maintaining Imerys’ master data model, including entities, fields, interfaces, and metadataWorking closely with Data Owners and the Business to understand their needs and develop the master data model accordinglyCollaborating with Business Process Owners (BPOs) and System Owners (e.g., ERPs) to align with Imerys processes and data definitionsAligning with the BI roadmap and future priorities for Commercial, Sustainability, Purchasing, HR, and Operations domainsCollaborating with other MDM experts to assist with the monitoring and preservation of the quality of the master dataAnalyzing needs and developing architecture/specifications of interfaces with other systems in terms of data management to improve data agilityContributing to the Data Governance initiative and framework definition to align people, processes and technologies to current and futures data challengesBeing responsible for metadata architecture, including data relationshipEnsuring that data integration from IT applications provides the expected data and liaising with IT System Owners if adjustments are neededAccompanying other projects related to data to ensure compliance with Data Management standardsCoordinating, developing, maintaining, and communicating the data documentation initiative: data catalog, data glossary, data dictionary, data lineage and documentation on metadataPromoting data model and adherence to global governance practices, as well as driving acceptance of globally accepted data standards and policiesProviding out-of-the-box thinking/solutions for optimization topics and accompanying change management when neededAbility to engage and influence stakeholders, showcasing the value and impact of master data architecture on business outcomes and the ability to adjust your message from abstract/conceptual to engineering detail – depending on your audience.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.10+ years of Data Architecture experience leading MDM architecture roadmaps, defined business cases and implementations effortsStrong business and technical background in the area of Master & Reference Data ManagementProven ability to gather business requirements, solution design with technical teams, and write functional specification documents, including business rules, match and merge rules, survivorship rules, etc.Capable of analyzing complex problems including identifying root cause issues, generating a concise summary of analysisHands-on experience with business processes across multiple master data domainsMust be comfortable presenting complex technology subjects to both technical and nontechnical audiencesDemonstrate strong communication, analytical and organizational skillsAbility to see the big picture and then break down into tactical solutions/actionsStrong communication skills with the ability to persuade/influence others at all levels of the organizationProven ability to handle multiple projects and duties of different urgency and importance at the same timePosition Type Full timeand PermanentOnly technical issues will be monitored through the below inbox:recruiting.support@ imerys.comPLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT RESUMES OR APPLICATIONS TO THIS EMAIL, AS THEY WILL NOT BE REVIEWED.To ensure fairness and legal compliance in our recruitment processes, only applications received through the online application process will be considered.IMERYS is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer and it is our policy to not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, disability, veteran status, or any other status protected by federal, state or local laws.
