The post is for 12 month fixed term maternity cover.The post holder will under supervision and appropriate support, see patients to provide education and implement treatment, working within established guidelines for the defined patient group within Hand Therapy. They will either implement activities following assessment by the qualified Hand Therapist, or commence independent intervention within a specific competency framework, once triaged as appropriate for a Technical Instructor. They will monitor the patient and liaise with the hand therapists for further guidance and advice as required. They will manage their own caseload of patients, assessing, treating and discharging patients within a defined group.Main duties of the jobResponsibilities will also include for the running of Rheumatology groups with support from a qualified team member. The post holder is to assess patient understanding of assessment / treatment proposals, gain valid informed consent and have the capacity to work within a legal framework with patients who lack capacity to consent to treatment.Development will be supported through competency-based learning, in house training and frequent supervision and appraisal and there will also be opportunities to attend relevant external training courses. The post holder is expected to use their initiative and work without direct supervision following service procedures with advice available from peers or managers.About usNHFT is an integrated primary care and mental health Trust, providing physical, mental health and specialty services in both hospital settings and out in the community.
