Job description

IPEM is looking for an experienced Head of Finance to lead the finance team and own the finance processes including Direct Debits for their members. They have just implemented a new finance system ( Microsoft business central) and continuing the update to processes and wider user adoption.

This is an exciting opportunity role for an enthusiastic, proactive individual, with an appetite for continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities for Head of Finance:

You will be responsible for a team of 3 team, you will establish a new month end timetable and reporting pattern, implement new finance system – Microsoft Business Central (formerly Nav/Navison) and manage staff changes in term.

Business Partnering

• Costing and pricing of new activity and reviewing existing arrangements

• Training courses and schemes
• Secretariat Services
• Providing financial analysis and support to the business in decision-making.
• Working closely with other departments and stakeholders to drive improvements in financial performance
• Share finance knowledge across the organisation

Budgeting and Planning

• Develop a quarterly forecast process involving managers to report to SLT and the trustees
• Responsible for cashflow management and forecasting

Management accounts and KPIs

• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Preparation of KPI reports using Power BI

Financial Accounting

• Year end accounts and reconciliations
• VAT and tax affairs
• Responsible for financial processes such as Direct Debits
• Compliance with charity SORP
• Responsible for providing all information necessary to allow the Institute’s auditors to undertake the statutory audit in a cost-effective manner

Payroll

• Responsible for the administration of the pensions scheme
• Responsible for the management of the Institute’s payroll

Line Management & Other

• Line management of the Finance Team (3)
• Company administration on Companies House
• Attend committee meetings and deputise for Deputy CEO

What the successful Head of Finance will have:

• ACCA/ACA/ CIMA Qualification or be a member or Fellow of a CCAB Accounting Body.
• Experience of being responsible for the financial management of an organisation
• Experience of leading and developing a finance team
• Experience of leading large-scale projects (e.g. new finance system)
• Ability to be flexible and manage competing priorities
• Ability to collaborate with committees and volunteers
• Excellent organisational skills and focus
• Experience or knowledge of data protection and GDPR compliance
• Committed to personal professional development
• Experienced in Office365 and other Microsoft applications

Whats on offer for Head of Finance:

• Competitive Salary Starting at £58,800 – £61,000
• 14% employer pension contribution and 0% employee pension contribution
