Compass Associates is proud to be working with a specialist provider of inpatient, community and home care services, to recruit a full time permanent Head of Therapy in York.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced neuro Occupational Therapist, Speech & Language Therapist or Physiotherapist, as you would be based at a purpose-built, inpatient neurorehabilitation service which provides specialist assessments, nursing, care and rehabilitation for adults with backgrounds of acquired/traumatic brain injuries, severe neurological conditions, spinal cord injuries or complex stroke. The unit has excellent facilities onsite such as a fully equipped Physiotherapy gym, Occupational Therapy kitchen and accessible activity, leisure and TV rooms for service users.

As Head of Therapy, you would hold a small caseload of complex patients as well as lead, mentor, supervise and motivate the Therapy Team which includes Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, SALTs and Therapy Assistants. The Therapy Team work collaboratively with the Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine, Junior Doctor, Neuropsychologists and Specialist Nurse. Reporting directly into the Service Manager, you would also be instrumental in shaping and developing the service’s therapeutic provision, ensuring high quality therapy is being delivered and all members of your team are properly supported, trained and offered ongoing supervision. You would also be able to lead on research projects, audits and policy change/reviews.

Location
This role is based on site in York and is commutable from Leeds, Wetherby, Harrogate, Thirsk, Malton, Pickering, Hull, Goole, Pontefract and surrounding towns.

The Candidate
Essential criteria:

• HCPC registered Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Speech & Language Therapist
• Strong clinical background within neuro rehab and/or neurobehavioural settings
• Previous experience managing an MDT or supervising junior colleagues

Interview Process
Two stage process; first with the Registered Manager and Operations Director, following by a second stage interview with the Group Therapy Lead
