Avisford Medical Group are looking for an experienced Health Care Assistant with phlebotomy experience to work 16 hours within our friendly nursing team.We work across two sites in Middleton-on-Sea and Yapton, and provide free parking at both.We offer a generous benefit package including 5 weeks annual leaveMain duties of the jobTo support the practice nursing and administrative teams in the delivery of clinical and administrative services, working as part of the practice multi-disciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population.The Healthcare Assistant will deliver and assist clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patient education while also supporting the administrative team on an as-required basis.About usAvisford Medical Group, is a busy surgery situated in dual sites at Yapton and Middleton-on-Sea. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:a. Undertake new patient health checksb. Support the Practice Nurse with health promotion programmesc. Carry out baseline observations such as pulse oximitery, blood pressure, temperature and pulse rate, recording findings accuratelyd. Facilitate routine and 24-hour BP monitoring, advising patients accordinglye. Undertake wound care, dressings and other clinical tasks as requiredf. Support the Practice Nurse with the management of chronic disease clinicsg. Carry out BMI checks as directedh. Act as a chaperone as requiredi. When trained, undertake venepuncturej. When trained, administer flu vaccinationsk. When trained, carry out ear irrigation under the supervision of the Practice Nursel. Carry out ECGs as requestedm. Ensure specimens are recorded and ready for onward transportationn. Provide support during minor operations as requiredo. Ensure all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each sessionp. Ensure fridges are cleaned routinely in accordance with extant guidanceq. Ensure clinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins replaced in accordance with the organisations IPC policyr. Participate in practice audit as directed by the audit leadb. Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient carec.
