Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?We are looking for an Analyst to contribute to our Global Health Care team at RBC Global Asset Management. For more information, please visit: ttps://www.rbcgam.com/en/caWhat will you do?Independently conduct fundamental analysis of Health Care sub-industries and individual companies, focusing on financial performance, a deep understanding of product end markets, competitive developments, and the evolving regulatory and reimbursement environment.Conduct extensive primary research to gain insight into emerging new trends in therapeutic and device treatment as well as care delivery.Participate in collaborative team discussions of prospective investment decisions, to generate investment ideas, contribute to portfolio construction, and support overall strategy development.Develop and adapt financial models to evaluate company performance and assess valuation metrics, considering factors such as product cycles, new product adoption, growth projections and operational costs using a scenario-based process.Remain current on trends and specific events that might impact the outlook of industries and companies.Foster relationships with company management, sell-side analysts, industry experts, and other stakeholders to gather proprietary information and enhance research capabilities. Engage and evaluate company senior management teams through one-on-one interviews, conference calls and group meetings.Present investment recommendations to portfolio managers, articulating compelling investment theses and providing insights into potential risks and opportunities. Pro-actively provide portfolio managers with timely stock ideas, utilizing various fundamental, technical and quantitative techniques.What do you need to succeed?Must HaveBachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, life sciences, or a related field.Direct experience in equity research, investment banking, or a related field, with a focus on an innovation-driven sector.Self-starting with an insatiable desire to learn new, often complex, subjects.Proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques, including discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis, comparable company analysis (CCA), and precedent transactions analysis.Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively.Ability to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment and contribute to a culture of excellence.Genuine passion for the stock market and a deep understanding of the health care industry and its key drivers.Nice to HaveAdvanced degree (e.g., MBA, MSc, CFA level 2 or above)Experience as an associate equity analystKnowledge or background in the Health Care and/or Life Sciences industryBloombergWhat’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, encourage progressive thinking to keep growing while working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
