Are you a qualified Health Visitor or currently studying the Specialist Community Public Health Nurse training in Health Visiting?Are you a retired health visitor looking to return to practice?We have exciting opportunities for you to join one of our forward thinking and innovative Universal Health Visiting teams in Brent.We have a range of part and full time Band 6 Health Visiting posts across Brent. You will be an either qualified or currently in training for your Specialist Community Public Health Nurse qualification with apassion for public health nursingseeking to new ways of working with families.Our skill mix teams use frameworks such asMESCHandMESCH Infant2Schoolto deliver our progressive service and continue to seek and develop innovative ways of working with Brent families to enable to children to have their best start in life.From April 2023 a Recruitment premia has been introduced to attract and retain qualified Health Visitors within CLCH’s Health Visiting Teams.For registered Band 6 Health Visitors, this post is offering a premium of £2,500 payable upon commencement of employment (T&C’s apply)Main duties of the jobWe work in partnership with Brent Family Wellbeing Centre and local Maternity services to deliver Best Start for Life.   • To plan, organize and evaluate an innovative health visiting service, and where appropriate, delegate to other members of the health visiting team to ensure delivery of a high quality service

  • Evidence of continuing post-registration education and training
  • Practice assessor/supervisor training or working towards

  • Health visiting experience
  • Be able to co-ordinate health promotion initiatives in line with local and national health improvement targets
  • Experience of working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and inter-agency working
  • Experience of organising and managing own workload and that of others ? Experience of assessing, planning and implementing programmes of care and writing care plans
  • Experience in providing practice based learning support to others ? Experience of evidence based care
  • Experience of supervising staff / students

Skills and KnowledgeEssential

  • Knowledge of recent developments in primary care ? Knowledge of current health and social care agenda relevant to area of work and professional practice
  • Knowledge of current health legislation [including Change for Children agenda, Children’s Plan etc.)
  • Current knowledge of child protection issues
  • Appropriate knowledge of clinical skills
  • Knowledge of quality issues, the audit process and clinical governance ? Knowledge of NMC Code
  • Knowledge of Personal Development Planning ? Knowledge of clinical supervision
