We are seeking motivated individuals with a passion for older adult mental health and a commitment to support continually improving quality.The service consists of two inpatient wards.The team at Newhaven are friendly, supportive and exceptionally caring, putting patient care at the heart of the work we do to improve health care outcomes and service delivery.We can offer up to 37.5 hours a week. Our working patterns are 3-4 long days/ night (07:30-20:00/19:30-08:00) across a four week period including weekends and bank holidays.Main duties of the job

• The ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels
• An enthusiastic, motivated and innovative thinker to become part of the Older Adult inpatient service
• The ability to problem solve, delegate, lead, co-ordinate and manage time effectively
• Escorting a patient
• Level observations
• Physical observations
• Completing diet and fluid charts
• Covid Swabs

• 1-1 engagements with patients
• Completing the menu

• Assisting with personal care for patients

• Carry out assigned duties involving direct patient care in support of and supervised by a registered nurse.
• Ensure confidentiality, dignity, privacy and respect for patients at all times.
• Assist and participate in activities to meet occupational needs of the patients in their care.
• Carry out enhanced observations of patients/clients.
• Ensure that all patient contact is practised within the philosophy of person centred care.
• Ensure that all communication is effective, clear and precise.
• Manual handling of patients, using lifting aids and safety intervention
• Escort patients/clients from the ward / department as required, ensuring their safety at all times.

• Will be expected to meet the Care Certificate standards within 12 weeks of commencing employment with the Trust
• Management of Actual and Potential Aggression (MAPA) training
• I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
