We are recruiting for a Healthcare Assistant to join us at Saint Catherines, are you ready for a new challenge?Our Healthcare Assistants are an important part of our organisation and play a crucial role in providing compassionate care and support to patients and their families during life’s most challenging moments.Main duties of the jobAs a Healthcare Assistant you will work closely with our nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to deliver personalised care and maintain the highest standards of comfort and dignity for our patients. From assisting with daily activities to offering a listening ear, you will go above and beyond to ensure that every individual receives the attention and support they deserve.About usAt Saint Catherine’s, we are embarking on an exciting journey of growth and innovation as we approach our 40th Anniversary – a milestone that celebrates four decades of providing compassionate care to our community. This period of expansion creates a range of opportunities for dedicated individuals to join our team. As we respond to the evolving needs of our community, we are expanding our services while remaining committed to delivering specialist care in our Palliative and End of Life Care Unit. We are delighted to introduce new services, including Respite, Convalescent Rehabilitation, and Symptom Management, which reflect the increasing demand for these much-needed offerings, such as the much-valued return of Respite Care.   • Provide compassionate and respectful personal care to patients, ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary team to assess patient needs and develop individualised care plans.
  • Monitor patients closely and report any changes in their condition promptly to senior staff members.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient care and observations.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues, fostering a supportive and empathetic environment.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Compassionate and empathetic nature, with a genuine desire to support patients and their families during challenging times.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
