Additional Notes:Our client is a well-known NGO located in the heart of downtown Ottawa. With a nationwide reputation, our client is embarking on a large-scale initiative over the next few months and needs some support. As our client is constantly in the centre of media, this organization brings real experience to recent graduates and students. Due to an increase in recent workflow, we are looking for someone eager to for part time work on a short-term contract, while building experience and joining a great team on site. We have an immediate opening for two temporary Help Desk – Level 1, to help with the growing demand and anticipatory needs.We are seeking two (2) detail-oriented and customer-focused Level 1 Help Desk Support professionals to join this fantastic team within a well-known non-profit organization. These positions have been created to address increased IT support needs due to organizational growth and recent promotion. As the first point of contact for IT-related issues, you will play a vital role in supporting staff, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, and maintaining our mission-driven work environment.Key Responsibilities

  • Provide First-Level Support – Respond to and resolve IT support requests via phone, email, and ticketing systems, addressing issues such as password resets, software installations, hardware troubleshooting, and connectivity problems
  • Troubleshooting – Diagnose and resolve basic technical issues, escalating complex cases as needed.
  • System Access Management – Assist with setting up new accounts, managing permissions, and ensuring security compliance for employees.
  • Equipment Setup & Maintenance – Configure and maintain workstations, laptops, printers, and other office devices.
  • Documentation – Maintain accurate records of support requests and solutions in the ticketing system and create/update internal user guides or FAQs as needed.
  • User Training – Provide basic training to staff on IT policies, software tools, and troubleshooting techniques to improve self-service capabilities.
  • Collaboration – Work closely with the IT team to identify recurring issues and suggest long-term solutions or process improvements.

The ideal candidate will have post-secondary education in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, and 1-2 years of experience. You will possess strong customer service skills with a professional and empathetic approach, as well as familiarity with troubleshooting Windows operating systems, MS Office 365, local active directory and other common productivity tools. Previous experience working with a ticketing system, preferably Zendesk, is highly desirable. A basic understanding of networking concepts, including Wi-Fi and VPNs is essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills will be required as you will be dealing with head office and field employees. The ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment will be essential to your success. Previous experience in a help desk or IT support role is highly desirable, as is knowledge of IT environments and software commonly used in non-profits, such as donor management systems and collaboration tools. We have 2 immediate openings for contractors to join this team. Bilingualism will be required for 1 position.What Will Make You Stand Out:

  • Previous experience with tier 1 help desk support.
  • Proven expertise in MS Office365, local active directory, and some website support
  • Knowledge of ticketing systems
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and patience to work through challenges
