Job Advertisement: History Teacher (Secondary)About Us: We are a forward-thinking secondary school with a strong commitment to historical education. Our History department is dedicated to fostering students’ understanding and appreciation of the past. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated History Teacher to join our team and inspire the next generation of historians.Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver high-quality History lessons that engage and challenge students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach A-level History.
  • Create an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes active learning and critical analysis of historical events and periods.
  • Employ diverse teaching strategies and resources to meet the varied needs and abilities of students.
  • Regularly assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to support their progress and attainment.
  • Work collaboratively with the History department and other staff to enrich the curriculum and incorporate innovative teaching practices.
  • Lead and participate in extracurricular activities, such as history clubs, educational trips, and guest lectures, to enhance students’ learning experiences.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in History or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience teaching History at the secondary school level.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the History curriculum and effective pedagogical strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment.
  • Enthusiastic about inspiring students to achieve their full potential in History.
