Job Summary
**The shift for this position is 11pm to 7am**
Under supervision, the principal clerk is responsible for communicating clear and concise information to the members of the OR/PAR staff, medical staff, and other hospital departments.
Responsible for all activities described in the principal clerk job description and accountable to the Patient Care Manager or charge nurse in the Operating Room.
Department Description
The Moffitt Long Operating Room (OR) consists of 28 surgical suites. Our primary focus is tertiary/quaternary surgical care using team based staffing. Our complex surgery uses the most advanced technology, including hybrid suites and robotic surgery. Services include but are not limited to: General Surgery, Urology, Transplant, Cardiac, Vascular, Thoracic, OHNS, OMFS, Plastics, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, and Neurosurgery.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent experience
- Experience in typing and filing
- Effective communication/verbal skills
- Knowledge of medical/surgical terminology is essential
- Knowledge of standard office methodology
- Good computer skills
- Ability to work effectively with all members of the nursing and medical staff
- Ability to work under stress and prioritize multiple tasks
- The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous hospital experience
