Position Summary:
American Equipment is seeking an experienced HR Manager to join our team in Salt Lake City, UT.
The HR Manager will be responsible for overseeing human resource functions under the direction of the VP of HR, and ensuring the effective management of our employees. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of progressive HR experience, strong knowledge of HR policies and procedures, and exceptional interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in compliance with local labor laws and regulations.
- Manage the recruitment and selection process, including sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and making hiring recommendations.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR-related matters, including performance management, employee relations, and disciplinary actions.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
- Conduct training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge on various HR-related topics.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.
- Handle employee grievances and mediate conflicts to ensure a positive work environment.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in HR management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field or HR industry experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, preferably in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficient in HR software and MS Office Suite.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This is a full-time onsite position; 8-hour days, Monday through Friday, with occasional travel.
