A temporary opportunity has arisen with my London-based client, requiring a highly capable, seasoned HR Manager-Generalist. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be a subject matter expert in HR and Payroll matters, leading a team of 2 people. Immediate start is desirable.
What does the role involve?
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will lead and direct a team of 2 (HR officer and Payroll Administrator), responsible for overseeing the full employee life-cycle in this varied generalist role. You’ll be responsible for all people-based activity within the organisation and be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of HR and Payroll solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the maintenance of staff records in all relevant HR and Payroll systems, including right to work compliance.
- Provide monthly and quarterly reporting on HR key performance indicators, headcounts and training activities
- Prepare HR statistics/reporting to parent organisation
- Administer the monthly payroll in ADP and the associated quarterly audits (2 different pay dates per month)
- Support the team with recruiting and dealing with recruitment agencies, including new vacancy admin advertisements (internal and external roles), managing the Workday System, onboarding process and entry interviews
- Deliver relevant training including staff induction and annual compliance training
- Provide leaders with accurate HR advice/support to enable the business to achieve its goals.
- Act as a subject matter expert/offer advice on a range of employment and employee relation matters including conduct, capability, grievance and disciplinary matters, redundancy and restructuring, absence and health issues, and family friendly policies
- Be responsible for exit interviews and all relevant offboarding administration
- Support Managers with the performance review process
- Liaise with a range of external partners who provide people related services to the business ensuring service levels are met.
- Take personal responsibility for ensuring that personal information is used fairly and lawfully within GDPR guidelines, report any personal data security incidents immediately and abide by the Information Security Policy detailed in the Staff Handbook
What’s required from you?
This role is subject to a basic DBS Disclosure
- Minimum Level 7 CIPD Qualification and minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience
- Experience of using ADP iHCM, and Workday Systems
- Strong IT skills, particularly with Word, Powerpoint and Excel.
- Knowledge of ISO Standards and dealing with HMRC
- Strategic mindset – ability to evaluate the overall picture, whilst being involved in the detail.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, written, and oral presentation skills.
- Consulting skills – Ability to influence others, develop and maintain working relationships, and deliver results and/or expertise for a client in a professional manner
- Results-oriented with the persistence and patience necessary to work effectively with a variety of internal and external clients at all levels within the organisation
- Self-motivated professional with good judgement and the ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Proven skills in working through complex problem assessment and resolution as well as practicing collaborative problem-solving abilities. Confidence to make decisions.
- Ability to handle confidential/ sensitive information on a frequent basis
- Pro-active team player who can also work on own initiative and implement ideas for improvements
- Strong employment law knowledge (Employment Lawyer available where needed).
- Able to deal with conflicting demands and prioritise work whilst ensuring that a high-quality service is provided and that deadlines are met
- Flexible and adaptable to work in an environment of changing priorities and demanding deadline schedules
- Ability to demonstrate and maintain effective relationships with all key stakeholders
